The prompt that lead to the chats form which these clouds emerged:
In class you were given a list of quotations from the last 5 essays we read on the subjects of writing, technology, identity, ownership, among many others. These quotations begin to get to the heart of the compositional, cultural, political, social, and economic shifts that are taking place in the age of sharing.
As a group, I would like you to consider the ideas that these quotations inspire. You don't have to go through them one by one, but do try to address the major issues covered by them. Avoid taking such points of view that lend to arguments like, "This is just bad." Look at the issues complexly.
Ultimately, by the end of the 40-45 minutes alloted for our chat, you should try to come to a consensus about what "reality" and "authorship" are in the age of the internet, social networking, vlogs, and mass information--and how you think they will impact your careers as writers, students, thinkers, citizens, and contributers to the collaborative writing space that is the Internet. Refer to the texts and speak your ideas freely.
